The Association has been legally registered in 1987 under Swiss law, and is based in Romainmôtier. Its first goal was to restore the Alain organ. This purpose has been reached in 1991 with the help of many sponsors, of the Canton de Vaud and of the Swiss Confederation. It was declared a national historical monument in 1991. The Association has established contracts with the Swiss Confederation, and with the concert society and the parish of Romainmôtier. These contracts are designed in order to protect the organ in the case of failure or disappearance of the Alain association.
Presently, the Association keeps working for the music of Jehan Alain, publishing CD’s, books and other material and organizing concerts and masterclasses, in close partnership with the Alain family members.
